I am grateful for the experiences I had growing up here, attending school, playing sports, and participating in community service activities.
After I graduated from Maine-Endwell, I attended the University at Albany. From there, I went to Cornell Law School.
After finishing law school, many of my classmates moved to big cities like New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles. I had the opportunity to follow them, and was tempted to do so, but I felt a stronger urge to return to the only place I ever called home. So, instead of choosing the “big city” life, I chose to return to Broome County.
I chose Broome County because I wanted to live in a place where I could pursue a challenging and rewarding career while still enjoying a fulfilling personal life.
I found the challenging and rewarding career I wanted when I came to work at Hinman, Howard & Kattell. I am fortunate to work with professionals of the highest caliber who care about me both as a professional and as a person. From day one, I worked directly with clients on consequential matters and became a part of a family of over seventy lawyers with expertise in all aspects of the law capable of providing an array of services to our clients. HH&K encourages its young attorneys to push themselves to learn and guides them with the motto of providing first-class legal services every time the client calls.
I also found the fulfilling personal life I wanted. I met my wife here in town, and now live in Endwell together with my her, our two daughters (a baby boy on the way in August!) and our dog Yankee.
Not only am I happy in my career and in my personal life, I am also able to give back to the community that gave so much to me. I am the President of the Board of Directors for Broome County Habitat for Humanity, serve on the Board of Directors for the Binghamton Philharmonic, am a member of the Advisory Committee for Southern Tier Solar Works, and have been an Attorney Advisor for the Maine‑Endwell Mock Trial team since 2008.
Broome County is not the “big city”, and I am glad for that. I can commute to work or enjoy a night out with family or friends without any of the hassle involved in catching a train, hailing a cab, or hopping a subway.
Best of all, at the end of every day I can leave work at work and go home to spend quality time with my family.
That to me is priceless.
